Please join me on October 19 as costumed revelers in our very own, gritty, grimy rock n’ roll circus. Based on my chapbook of the same name, Rock and Roll Hootchy Koo follows a young artist as her lives intersect with the songs of rock-poets like Lorde, Jim Morrison, Morrissey, Leonard Cohen, PJ Harvey, Bjork, Marc Bolen, David Bowie, Neil Young, Janice Joplin and more.
There will be: black lights, art, music, fiendish slow jams and shoe-gaze for the masses. A program with some found art poems and a card linking you to the page created night of the event.
My hope is to disappear within the work as a barely functioning ringmaster in a mullet.
Local artists and writers: Get your albums out and/or start streaming–open reading to follow with the best pieces that fit into our rock and roll debacle theme.
